I have a 99 chevy sl1500 three door truck. My 07 tahoe door won t close it seems a black piece is pushed down preventing it from closing on both driver and passenger door. About 2 months ago i went to open my rear door and it wouldn t budge. 1996 tahoe while cleaning the door i latched the front door latch and now i can t get it un latched so i can close the door get a screwdriver making sure the door lock is in the unlocked position lift the outside handle as if opening the door and move the latch with the screwdriver.

Walking thru the steps in how to remove replace the door lock actuator in a 2008 chevy tahoe. When i tried closing the lift glass it would not latch shut. The window button on the back by the license plate works but not the door. Last night i opened the passenger door and now it won t close.

When i viewed the driver s side door and pushed the little latch up to try to re create and fix the reason the other door would not latch i now have two doors that will not close. The handle just has a soft button and you push and pull door open like it s a normal handle.

I do not have auto close open rear door. With the door open and a screwdriver in where the red is on this picture make sure the door is unlocked and while working the outer door handle while pulling out with the screw driver will the latch pull out and open up. A little black button in the door frame you can pull the center of the push button out about a 1 16th of an inch and close the door slowly to reset them.
